    Responsibilities:

    Altegris’ Legal and Compliance team must annually coordinate, with the Marketing and Research Departments, the review, approval and periodic updating of hundreds of marketing and advertising pieces relating to its product suite. These materials include website content, presentations, fact sheets, reprints, letters, institutional sales materials, direct marketing campaigns, economic and industry reports and certain internal communications. The firm utilizes an internet-based portal to facilitate the review and processing of all materials and ensure compliance with applicable SEC, FINRA, CFTC, NFA and other regulatory standards.

    Altegris’ Advertising Compliance Manager will take a leadership role in conducting and managing the advertising and compliance review/approval process, in coordination with the Marketing and Research Departments. The successful candidate will be the firm’s principal point of contact and will be primarily responsible for the following:

    • Reviewing investment company, private-placement and commodity-futures marketing, advertising and promotional materials to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
    • Interacting frequently with the principal underwriter of mutual funds advised by Altegris, and coordinating with the staff of the Sales, Legal and Compliance, Marketing and Research Departments concerning advertising review matters
    • Communicating and advocating effectively with the staff of FINRA’s advertising regulation department and other regulators regarding advertising review matters
    • Monitoring compliance issues relevant to advertising and marketing materials and staying current on FINRA, SEC, State and internal standards
    • Ongoing management, mastery and oversight of the internet-based portal to facilitate the review and processing of advertising materials, including the training of new users

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • FINRA Series 7 and Series 24 licenses or willingness to obtain the 24 within 90 days
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience reviewing advertising and sales materials with related work experience in the securities industry
    • Proven knowledge of relevant SEC and FINRA advertising and related regulations
    • Well-organized and highly efficient, possessing excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with management-level personnel, subject-matter experts, legal counsel, and regulatory agencies
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to remain fully engaged with all business clients and work well under pressure
    • Confident self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to thrive in a demanding and fluid environment presenting frequent work-flow and project-priority changes
    • Proficiency in MS Office Applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, and in Adobe Acrobat Professional

    Altegris is seeking a mid-level Database Administrator to join its growing technology team. This is a
    production MSSQL Server DBA role, and as such, it will require a commitment and willingness to have a
    flexible schedule when needed. Some of the primary responsibilities of this role will include ensuring
    consistent uptime and performance of the production SQL servers, automating and monitoring routine
    tasks (back-ups, maintenance, etc.) and working with the development team to improve the efficiency
    of SQL queries.

    Responsibilities:
    • Develop automation scripts for back-ups and refreshing development environments
    • Review Execution Plans
    • Deploy new SQL queries and reports to production
    • Performance tune and optimize SQL server
    • Write SQL queries to assist development with data retrieval

    Requirements:

    Responsibilities:

    The primary purpose of this role is to manage sales events and meetings, as well as assist with other Altegris events. Job responsibilities include:

    • Managing all contractual and logistical work associated with planning and executing conferences, road shows, due-diligence meetings, Genworth meetings, and events for primary clients
    • Collaborating with the Marketing Department and external wholesalers to develop and execute an events calendar that targets both investment advisors and private clients

    • Managing production of name tags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc.
    • Closing out all events
    • Serving as a liaison with vendors on event-related matters
    • Coordinating, tracking and following-up on attendee manifests for events
    • Planning, tracking and controlling meeting metrics, expenses, attendance, productivity, and promotional response
    • Managing multiple projects and tight deadlines, demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced environment
    • Organizing and delivering events/projects on time and on budget

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience in corporate event planning and meeting management
    • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

    Responsibilities:
    • Maintain database of electronic documents and customer information
    • Provide “white-glove” service to internal and external customers and handle client requests and needs
    • Handle varied administration projects related to office facilities, shipping, etc.
    • Act as front desk and phone back-up

    Requirements:
    • Exceptional attention-to-detail and accuracy in data input
    • Strong ability to:
    o Take initiative
    o Work both independently and under the direction of different departments
    o Perform successfully under deadlines/pressure
    o Work collaboratively with others
    • Excellent verbal communication skills – a professional phone presence

    Responsibilities:

    Our Sales VP and Alternative Investment Consultant will focus on the high-net-worth market segment. Job duties include:

    • Introducing our hedge-fund products to our existing database of prospects and clients (we provide warm leads)
    • Building custom portfolios of hedge-fund products using our proprietary software
    • Demonstrating extensive knowledge of how products on the Altegris platform may complement other investment products
    • Actively networking with existing leads to identify potential prospects

    Requirements:

    • Proven, verifiable sales experience
    • Strong background in analyzing asset-allocation strategies
    • Working knowledge of alternative portfolio construction and how complementary strategies may be aligned
    • Ability to analyze various hedge-fund programs and find gaps of exposure
    • Strong computer skills and ability to rapidly learn new software packages
    • Series 7, 3, and 63 or 66 licenses

    Ideally, the candidate will also have:

    • Past sales experience in the hedge-fund industry
    • Prior relationships with hedge-fund clients
    • Familiarity with various statistical-analysis software (such as PerTrac)
    • A CAIA designation or desire to achieve the certification
